Simple & Quick Hairstyles
By kathydu
Does any of this sound familiar? You wake up late for work or school and only have ten minutes before you have to leave and your hair looks like a hot mess. With a few easy steps and tools you will be drab to fab in a matter of minutes. There are quick and easy hairstyles out there for anyone and any hair type. Remember "the hair is the richest ornament of women" a quote by Martin Luther. (Luther 0)
What you will need.
You don't need to spend much on a cute hairstyle. All you need are the basics that you probably already have and if you don't have all can be found at the local drugstore. What you need are hairbrushes, a comb, bobby-pins, hair pins, straightener or curling iron, hair ties, basic plain headbands, hairspray and lastly accessories. Don't worry not all of this is for just one hairstyle.
The Traditional
- One of the most easiest styles is to simply take the hair in front of face, twist or braid the hair then pull it back and pin it with some bobby pins. An easy girly look that will take only a matter of seconds.
- The "poof"; take the middle front section of your hair, hairspray the back of the section and take a comb and tease ( taking a comb and brushing down to create volume.). After that smooth the front and take two bobby-pins and pin as an "X" to secure the poof.
- A simple ponytail is an easy, carefree style. By teasing the crown and smoothing the hair to create volume, tie the hair at your desire height. To add a bit more pizzazz take a cute headband to make a more glamorous look. Also, if you don't want the traditional ponytail then make it into a low side ponytail or leave it down all together.
- Braids come in many forms; from the traditional braid, french braid, and the elaborate fishtail braid. Braids are something that does take practice but once mastered it is one of the easiest out the door styles.
- A elegant bun can take less then two minutes to do. Take all your hair, twist and tie it all together. For any loose ends or anything sticking out take pins to fix them. You can create any type of bun with these basic steps from messy bun, a traditional bun, braided bun, or etc.
Simply Gorgeous
One thing that I have not mentioned in the "what you will need" list are socks, two long socks. This is one of my favorite hairstyles to do to get beautiful curls. When your hair is damp, section off half of your hair horizontally and wrap the hair around one of the socks, leaving enough room to be able to tie the sock. After wrapping the hair take the end sections of the sock and tie the ends together to create a TIGHT knot. Repeat the same process with the bottom section. When the process is done, one of the final and most important steps is to sleep. After waking up take out the socks and reveal the curls. In many cases, a few curls may not be up to your standards so what you can do is re-curl it with either a curling iron or straightener (How to curl your hair with a straightener: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5iyFggBpTw). This hairstyle is really easy and makes you look like you took your time to do your hair. You can leave the style as is or if you want to add more glamor than add a flower or headband.
If you don't want to do this process because you either don't have long socks or damp hair. Then you can use a plain stretchable headband. Slide the headband on your head and start taking sections of your hair starting from the hair in front of your face and looping the hair around the band. Continue this process around the whole head and pin any loose ends. After the looping and pining it you should have a somewhat bohemian look. Since this is such a "long" process, it's time to sleep. After sleeping take out the headband in the morning and you should get flowy, cute curls. Add accessories are optional.
Easiest as it gets

I thought this topic was very user friendly. You gave a nice variety of quick hairstyles with great descriptions. I also think it is good because you do not really need to buy any items, most people already have those items.
I really like how you start your hub off with the imagery of running late in the morning. It's funny and relatable. Your hub is very helpful and interesting as well. I love it (:
